The nominees for Achievement in Makeup (from left to right) Montse Ribé, David Martí, Bill Corso, Kazuhiro Tsuji, Vittorio Sopano, and Aldo Signoretti, spoke about their respective films at the Makeup Syposium February 24, 2007, held in the Linwood Dunn Theater at the Pickford Center in Hollywood. |
Adding to the excitement of Oscar® Week, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented the nominees in the Makeup category at a special symposium at the Academy’s Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood for the first time.
The Makeup Symposium was hosted by Makeup Branch Governor Leonard Engelman, whose film credits include Moonstruck, The Accidental Tourist, Sleepless in Seattle and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Featuring the nominated makeup artists (subject to their availability) in a panel discussion, the event also presented film clips of each achievement and an opportunity for questions from the audience.
