
The Academy is pleased to display for public viewing in New York and Hollywood the actual Oscar® statuettes that will be presented to the winners of the 78th Academy Awards® ceremony.
In a first for New York, this year’s crop of newly minted Oscar statuettes will be showcased in the window of Times Square Studios in New York City from Monday, January 23 through Wednesday, February 1.
Following, the Academy is pleased to display for the second time in Hollywood these fifty Oscar statuettes destined for the 78th Academy Awards ceremony at the Hollywood & Highland Center from Friday, February 10 through Friday, March 3.

Newly minted Oscar statuettes will be showcased in the window of Times Square Studios.
• Flight of the Oscars
The Oscars will be flown from New York to Los Angeles on "Oscar-1," the special United Airlines "Flight of the Oscars," where they again will be displayed in a public exhibition at the Hollywood & Highland Center®.
• Hollywood Exhibition - February 10 through March 3
Fifty Oscar statuettes will be on display, along with a rare opportunity to hold an actual Oscar, at Hollywood & Highland Center.
• 78th Academy Awards Ceremony
These Oscar statuettes* will be presented to the winners of this year's 78th Academy Awards ceremony on March 5, 2006.
*The Academy will not know how many statuettes will be awarded until the envelopes are opened on Oscar Night® because there can be ties as well as variable numbers of winners in some categories. |
