74th Academy Awards Rules 2001

RULE TWENTY-SIX

SPECIAL RULES FOR THE JEAN HERSHOLT HUMANITARIAN AWARD

1. This award shall be given to an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry.

2. Nominations for the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award shall be made at a special meeting of the Board of Governors.

3. Balloting for the Hersholt Award shall be conducted in the same manner as in Rule Twenty-five, Paragraph 3.

4. No proxies shall be permitted in balloting for the Hersholt Award.

5. No individual shall be eligible to receive the Hersholt Award more than once.

6. The Hersholt Award shall not be voted posthumously.

7. No member of the Board of Governors shall be eligible to receive the Hersholt Award while serving as a member of the Board.
